Basic Babe

As I am preparing for my upcoming move/adventure I am challenging myself to pack a little as possible.

I am bringing 2 backpacks. One for my computer and essentials. Then, the other one is a 44L for clothes and shoes. LET’S DO THIS!

I have been inspired in one of Lauren Conrad’s books about travel. She spoke about how traveling overseas and in the country to never pack anything you wouldn’t want to loose. That cuts down my leftovers of what I didn’t sell in closet to probably about 2 items, haha but seriously. Since this is going to challenge myself to pack light and only what I need, I figured basic were the way to go.

Forever21 has cute and affordable basics, so I couldn’t have done better because if my backpack was left somewhere or stolen, I am not loosing heaps of money. However, I hope this will not be the case though! Preparation is always key.

I found a few tops that are very versatile thus, lighter the backpack will be, yassss!!!

You can check these cute little tank crops here. && this adorable Velvet crop here, as well.

I wanted to stick to pretty neutral colors, that way I can dress them up and down no matter what. I also wanted a nice dressier shirt that way I don’t have too rely on jewelry every day. Jewelry weighs a lot so, less jewelry the better. No matter what though, basic tops are always a go-to for any look. Cotton is easy to dress up, so from day to night, you’re set babe!

Paige//Paige Denim

Sometimes, you just need a break from being all fancy and such, especially on a day like today. Where it’s cold, with random snow everywhere from last night’s storm… so the last thing you want to do is be wearing stilettos. Today, I am feeling like a lazy bug! This a perfect go-to outfit for wanting to be chic, yet completely comfy as can be.

First off, let’s talk about this killer zip up hoodie. It’s so basic, but has a thunder bolt smack right on the back. WHAT?! It does remind me of Harry Potter, which i’m not mad about at all.

Gryffindor for the win~

Number 2, Paige Jeans. If you do not own a pair, you’re missing out. These babies are actually denim material not stretchy jegging, however, you would never have guessed when they are on. Ugh, it’s seriously being in PJ’s all day. CANNOT COMPLAIN! && of course, pairing the most comfy top from Paige as well. Seriously, Paige will hook it up, literally Paige from Paige boutique on pearl hooks it up! She has a great selection of Paige jeans; these are actually from there, also the top and jacket. It’s pretty convenient!! I’m never let down at that boutique.

Then, without even forgetting about the shoes, and no I did not leave these over night on a tree stump from a  photoshoot… and went back coming to find them still there. So we most definitely cannot forget about these beauties. I have such a soft spot for sock booties. I prefer the leather look, since it can dress up anything, this being my lazy bug look, ehm. They trek through that snow and are water resistant. WINNING. Thanks Topshop for your fabulous designers.

Aca-cessories. Yup, I just went there!! Keep it simple. That’s the main goal for this comfy-lazy look. You truly do not need to try hard with accessories at all, since you have pieces that are already making statements. I kept it extremely simple and wore my reading glasses. Then, without hesitation, slim grey hoops were the answer to complete this look.

PS. If you are not a bootie person at all, runners are perfect for being street-chic. I have all angels covered for ya girlfriend. Do not fret!

When In Doubt…

When in doubt, leather pants. They are the perfect pants for fall time, especially when wanting to dress up and not try. I definetely think my style is all about effortlessly chic when it comes down to it. The more lazy the more chic. Maybe?

I also am in love with my top I have on. It’s fleece, so I can wear it for snowboarding and for a night out with my gals. It keeps me warm wether I am near a fire place or not. Best of both worlds, is key! PS. not sure if you noticed or not but my BOMBER is part of my fall series fav jackets, see how versatile this jacket is. It’s an essenetial for your wardrobe.

Effortlessly Street-Chic

If there’s anything I truly love, it is being comfortable and fashion forward. I honestly have some mornings where I just DO. NOT. WANT. TO. GET. READY, PERIOD. Lately, my lazy days have been getting the best of me and little do most people know I was ready and out the door in less than ten minutes. Reason being; I woke up late and needed to get to work STAT.

Effortlessly street-chic is the name of this fabulous look.

This outfit in particular was not rocket science. I looked, I grabbed and I paired. 3 easy steps (who doesn’t hate that?) I really was aiming for the street chic today however, I did not want to look too homeless so I figured adding some girly-ness to this outfit couldn’t hurt. I did a somewhat messy top knot, and wore my amazing gold gong earrings for win!

  • TOP: MCA Denver designer, PRETTY/DIRTY/, but I DIY’d by adding my own designer hole touch.
  • Blue button down: Thrifted
  • Skirt: H&M
  • Shoes: New Balance
  • The Gongs: Charming Charlies

side note: I was at a bar one night and some random guy came up to my earrings, took his straw and hit them while obnoxiously screaming (GONG GONG, CHINA WANTS THEIR GONGS BACK.) It was actually kind of funny and no nothing EVER came out from that, haha.

I truly was not feeling this Sunday but my outfit could say otherwise. In all honesty though, thank goodness for runners because my feet have been in non-stop 4-6inch heels this past week and my back really thanked me today. If you don’t own a pair of runners, or NB runners to be more specific you’re in for a loss because these babies are fashion forward. They can be paired with anything and by anything, I mean literally can wear them with your wedding dress. Don’t take my word for it though, go out and get yourself a pair (;

That is all I have for you. Just remember, when it comes to fashion, you really do not need to try at all. As long as it has some sort of coordination and you rock that confidence, you are golden girlfrandd!

lots of love on this beautiful Sunday,

S
